Job Overview
This role reports to the Team Leader and is responsible for contributing to the achievement of Safe On Time Performance for Fiji Link’s scheduled flights by delivering prompt cargo and baggage services as required in company documents.
This role is based at the Taveuni Airport.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contributes to loading of the bags and cargo safely, securely and in accordance with the Loading Instruction Report provided by the Load Controllers.

Ensure on time departure is observed for all and loading of aircraft as per the criteria of the aircraft type as stated in Ground Operations Manual (GOM) or Weight and Balance manual.

Ensures safe handling of customer baggage and manoeuvring of customers to and from aircraft in line with specific guidelines laid out in the Fiji Link GOM.

Monitors and ensures the safety of passengers on the tarmac during boarding and disembarking to mitigate any potential risk.

For operational purposes, performs any other duties that may be assigned by Team leader or Senior Manager Ground Operations.

Ensures that the surrounding around the baggage makeup area and aircraft movement area remains clear.

Identify any hazardous, unsafe, Ground Service Equipment deficiencies to stakeholders

Be mindful of the shift work and ensure that person is rested for the shift work

Ensuring cargo/ground operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and Fiji Link standards (SMS, DAMP, FRMS, OHS, Etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must have Fiji School Form 6 (Year 12) pass or equivalent tertiary qualification.

Experience in hospitality and/or a customer service related role.

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.

Must be self-organized and capable of working under pressure.

A good relationship builder and solution focused.

Exposure to airport operations will be an advantage.

Attention to detail and accuracy.
-
Possess a valid Grade 2 Fiji Vehicle Driver’s license.

Physically fit and able to reach the aircraft cargo hold height.
