About the Role:

Hastings Deering (PNG) Limited is currently recruiting for a Technical Trainer to join our Learning Team based in Tabubil. This role primarily exists to develop, plan, coordinate, facilitate and evaluate technical training programs and courses for Hastings Deering employees, approved external customers and business partners following SOP, OMM and Caterpillar technical training delivery specifications.

Reporting to the Learning Manager, your competency and experience will include:

  • Ensure safety goals are achieved through personal commitment, no harm to self or others and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Display fairness, exhibit trust and create real teamwork and sharing.
  • Develop and maintain (CI) training materials meeting HD L&D standards regarding content scope, OMM, content detail, formatting, presentation, look and feel and Caterpillar specifications.
  • Develop and maintain (CI) delivery programs, session plans and objectives to align with customer needs and expectations and OMM.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure smooth, professional facilitation of the Hastings Deering learning experience for the students, site contacts and other parties associated with the process.
  • Ensure currency and ongoing professional development in line with any industry best practices or legislative changes/requirements.
  • Facilitate a safe, positive, and open learning experience for all learners protecting the Hastings Deering brand and reputation.
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities for Capability and the broader organization include role modelling and driving learning solutions which align to modern adult learning methodology.

About You:

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

  • Trade Certificate (HEF)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years post trade experience within the surface or underground mining industry, construction, and heavy earthmoving.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
