Technical Services Engineer (Avionics)
This role reports to the Manager Technical Services and the purpose of the Technical Services Engineer (Avionics) role is to be responsible, with particular regard to ATA 46 – Information System (all aircraft type), e-Operations (A350), e-Enabling (B737MAX), In-Flight Entertainment System (all aircraft type), connectivity (all aircraft type), cabin and systems (all aircraft type), Flight Data Analysis (all aircraft type) and software management (all aircraft type). for the Specification/Configuration Control of the Fiji Airways and Fiji Link fleets, in accordance with Fiji Airways Technical Operating Procedures and Regulatory Requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out technical evaluation of airworthiness requirements and technical specifications relative to the Avionics disciplines for specified fleet types and make appropriate recommendations for methods of compliance with the requirement and/or the suitability of the specifications.

Carries out technical and economic evaluation of Original Equipment Manufacturer data, and make appropriate incorporation presentation to monthly Engineering Maintenance Review Group. If approved for incorporation, ensure all accountable follow up action relating to these modifications are actioned.

Provides technical and troubleshooting expertise to support the Maintenance and Workshop sections. This includes, but is not limited to, research and investigation of failures, defects, repairs, parts, overhaul, modifications, conducting sampling programs, preventative maintenance and condition monitoring.

Maintains effective liaison and communication with the various Production, Quality Assurance, Planning, Flight Operations and Guest Services groups on all matters affecting Technical Services support relating to area of responsibility.

Evaluates the technical specifications of new equipment or processes and recommending those which are suitable for approved use.

Communicates with approved outside Engineering and Design Organisations, MROs, Vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturer on technical matters relating to area of ATA responsibility.

Ensures timely preparation of Certificate of Airworthiness Data for allocated aircraft in the Fiji Airways or Fiji Link fleets for C of A renewal for review and submission to the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) by Quality Assurance (QA).

Ensures that before company initiated changes are made to the manufacturer’s basic aircraft specifications (as contained in maintenance/overhaul, parts, operations or other Technical Manuals etc.), all such changes are properly considered and can be shown to be technically correct.

Performs functions of e-Enabling Engineering Administrator and Engineering e-Operations Administrator as required by Fiji Airways.

Manages the software parts for Onboard Network System (ONS) fitted on 737 MAX aircraft and for Fly Smart with Airbus – New Generation (FSA-NG) fitted on A350 XWB aircraft and ensures that the software as-booked configuration and as-allowed configurations in AMOS are updated accordingly.

To use the total functionality of AMOS as required by the position to manage the role of TSE (Avionics).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering tertiary qualifications, or

Aeronautical Maintenance Certificate (AMC) in Avionics

Additional appropriate experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.

At least 4 years’ experience in an Engineering environment,
-
In depth knowledge of aircraft systems as well as comprehensive understanding of the Engineering & Maintenance requirements of an aircraft

Experience in using computer based maintenance control programs,

Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
