Quality Assurance Materials Inspector

The Quality Assurance Materials Inspector is responsible for the management, control and planning of all incoming goods inspection and release to service is also responsible for Technical Stores inspection duties and administrative functions as required by Manager Technical Materials and undertaking surveillance of the Company’s Technical Stores facilities in accordance with requirements as specified in the Engineering Technical Operating Procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs Technical Stores Inspection duties and administrative functions is responsible for undertaking surveillance of the Technical Stores facilities, following Engineering Technical Operating Procedures to ensure compliance and proper functioning.
  • Prepares audit reports to inform the Manager Technical Materials and Manager Quality Assurance and Compliance about any deviations or deficiencies found in the Technical Stores Inspection system.
  • Ensures that all aircraft components, parts, materials, and spares received from suppliers are from approved sources and come with the necessary certificates of release to service.
  • Ensures that orders for new components or repairs comply with approved contractor listings and are obtained from approved suppliers or repair organizations.
  • Is responsible for verifying that all received components comply with the correct modification status and technical specifications and instructions specified in the original order. QAMI is required to complete an Inspection Reject Note action where discrepancies are found.
  • Perform physical checks for damage and serviceability of incoming components, alerting Technical Services Engineers of any items received that may qualify for warranty action.
  • Maintains a system for stock order/receipt batching and release recording for audit trail purposes, using the AMOS system for component releases and ensuring the security of release records.
  • Notifying the Materials Planning Officer when there are discrepancies between the repair order details and the repair instructions concerning overseas contractor approved listings and capability listings of the Company Components Workshops.
  • Establish a system to monitor and highlight shelf life expiry use AMOS to generate two monthly reports of all shelf life expiry and liaise with Aircraft Planning Engineers for scheduling.
  • Ensures transfer of rotable components from Technical Materials Receipts to Technical Materials bonded stores, a Service Label issue procedure is followed.
  • Monitor the movement of unserviceable components, coordinate paperwork processing with Materials Storeman, and report deficiencies to Manager Technical Materials & Manager Quality Assurance and Compliance.
  • Notifies the Manager Quality Assurance and Compliance & Manager Technical Materials of any inspection notices required for airworthiness or any undesirable condition related to the Company’s spare parts inventory.
  • Liaise with Materials Planning Officers and Aircraft Planning Engineers in respect of maintenance spares required for urgent clearance of outstanding defects and maintenance actions.
  • Effective communication and liaison with Materials Storeman and Technical Materials Coordinator are maintained for harmonious relations and reporting of various matters affecting Technical Stores Inspection and Quality Assurance.
  • Uses total functionality of engineering maintenance system AMOS system to manage the Materials Planning Officer role effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering
  • Dangerous Goods Certification Approval (will be advantage)
  • Group 2 Drivers License
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems & Materials Inspection System
  • At least 2 years’ experience Procurement & Supply Chain Role
  • Previous experience in Logistics & Warehouse Management would be an advantage
  • Basic Understanding of 6S (6 Sigma) Philosophy would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and some previous experience in using inventory management systems
