Project Manager
This role reports to the Senior Manager Properties & Transportation and the Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the Company’s construction projects. The role collaborates with Engineers and Architects in the development of plans, create project time frame, distribute resources and ensure timely completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage, supervise and coordinate staff duties, activities and responsibilities including discipline.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with engineers, architects to determine the specifications a project.

Negotiates contracts with external vendors to reach profitable and beneficial agreement for the Company.

Responsible for obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities before commencement of a project.

Define project objectives, project scope, roles and responsibilities for construction projects.

Formulate project resource requirements such as manpower, equipment and materials from start to finish with meticulous attention to budgetary limitations.

Develop budget for projects based on requirements and closely track costs to deliver project on budget.

Prepare and manage a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, work streams and activities.

Monitor projects and provide regular reports on status to project team and key stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate potential risks by managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget.

Manage the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.

Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.

Responsible for hiring contractors, other staff and allocating responsibilities.

Supervise the work labourers, mechanics and give them guidance when required.

Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager Properties and Ground Support.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in civil engineering or building constructions.

Ability to use AutoCAD is preferred

Valid driver’s license required

5 years’ experience in similar role

Previous experience with Building Construction and Project Management
-
Previous experience with Building Construction Quantity Surveying.

Experience in developing budgets.

Extensive knowledge in building construction standards and regulations.

Extensive knowledge of business operating areas

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Good verbal communication

Competent Windows/Microsoft user

Ability to multi task
