World Vision Solomon Islands invites applications from interested and qualified candidates for the position of:

  1. Project Manager – Disaster Risk Reduction Sector to be based in Marau, WeatherCoast Area Program Office

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

World Vision (WV) has recently been awarded grants from the Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, BHA, USAID, to implement Disaster Risks Reduction interventions in two locations in Solomon Islands. The project will be working with partners such as the provincial disaster management office and its national counterparts and local NGOs for a period of 36 months beginning July 2022.

Commencing in July, this 36-month project has the overall objective of improving community management of fast or slow onset of different hazards and risks on community people and assets. The project will build community capacity on DRR and Climate change adaptations and mitigations where appropriate.

The Project Manager (PM) will provide overall coordination, leadership, oversight of the project and management of project partners. The Project Manager will be responsible for the quality, timeliness and efficiency of the project, and ensuring the project complies with all internal (WV) and donor (BHA) requirements including financial management and reporting.
