Job Overview

World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) has an exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for a suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the Project Coordinator – EU Flower Power to be based in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.

The EU-funded Flower Power project aligns with the overall and specific objectives of EU Lot 2- Role in Economic Empowerment of Disadvantaged Population to economically empower and enable marginalized populations especially women and youths with the knowledge, skills, and capacity to be competitive in the business environment. The overall impact objective is to strengthen CSOs to lead actions to improve women and youth economic empowerment through increased knowledge, skills, and accessibility in the market system. This will be achieved by 3 specific objectives;

  1. Women have improved income through climate-smart floriculture production
  2. Women and youth-led CSOs have increased organizational capacity and knowledge to advocate for more equitable business and growth opportunities for women and youth
  3. Women and youth have strengthened networks and access to financial inclusion


The purpose of this position provide leadership, project management, implementation, and coordination of the project according to approved objectives, plans of action, and budgets of the project. The Project Coordinator will ensure all deliverables at the provincial level with direct reports to the Livelihood and Resilience Portfolio Manager. The ideal candidate will have related expertise to provide close and regular technical support to district–level CSOs.


Project Management and Evaluation

  • Effective supervision and coordination of project activities aimed at ensuring economic empowerment of women and youth in the floriculture industry
  • Maintain quality implementation and monitoring of activities
  • Timely coordination, consultation, and communication with technical specialists and direct reports to ensure smooth & quality implementation of the activities
  • Prudently manage project budget and financial compliance of the grant.

Representation & Networking

  • Representation and networking at donor meetings/ joint agency assessments or studies and within communities
  • Develop and maintain links with NGO’s Local Level authorities
  • Develop and maintain donor relationships for adequate funding needs and discussions on utilization
  • Coordinate and communicate donor visits efficiently with management and effectively host donor visits

High Quality of Documentation

  • Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner meeting reporting requirement
  • Manage the coordination of project assessments and evaluations
  • Present Regular progress reports at appropriate meetings
  • Submit monthly reports

Capacity Building & team management

  • Provide leadership to train and build field staff capacity on how to interpret project ITT, how to interpret and understand project DIP, how to read and understand project budget and charge correctly to the correct cost centers/activity line (T6 code) and how to compile field report and support with a compilation of MMR,
  • Train project staff on community mobilization and partner networking skills.
  • Train project field staff on how to take good photos and write good field stories/most significant change stories.
  • Train field staff on how to develop their monthly work plan


  • Bachelor’s degree, College qualifications in Project Management
  • 3 years’ experience in project management is sufficient.
  • 3-5 years experience in community development or in a relief and development setting with project management experience.
  • Experience working and networking with partners in Morobe Province is a bonus
  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
  • Any knowledge in climate-smart agriculture and horticulture is preferable
  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English.
  • Computer literate
