VACANCY: 54/2023 Principal Engineer IP Networks
Reporting to the Manager Network Operation, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Optical and IP networks. This includes designing and implementing new networks, upgrading existing networks, and troubleshooting network problems for the Core Network right to the Customer Premises Equipment.
The incumbent will ensure that the Service provider Core network (ISP, MPLS and DWDM) are maintained properly to the highest standard and maintain optimum customer service experience at all times.
The incumbent will also actively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including key client’s partner and vendors to maintain business relationship and brand reputation is continuously enhanced.
Requirements
Key Accountabilities:
- Design and implement new Optical and IP Core Network and including the Customer Network.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades of existing Optical and IP Core Networks and Customer Premises Equipment.
- Troubleshoot Optical and IP Core Network problems and Customer Network Problems.
- Provide technical support to all stakeholders involved in the service delivery to customers and the clients.
- Always maintain Network Security.
- Optimize and Enhance Optical and IP Core Network to improve performance.
- Maintains Network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance to standard policies and maintain systems backup and Disaster recovery capability.
- Evaluate new communication technologies to enhance network capabilities and provide roadmap for future network growth.
- Stay up to date on the latest optical and IP technologies and provide training and knowledge sharing to the team.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures, complying with HSAW policies.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline OR Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Certification – CCIE R&S or CCIE SP level is preferred.
- 10 + years of experience IP Network Planning ,Designing and Implementation, of which at least 4 years specialized in Service Provider MPLS network, Internet Transit routing and DWDM network.
- Strong understanding Service Provider MPLS , ISP and DWDM technologies , architecture and service flows.
- Strong understanding of Network security, mitigation, and protection.
- Good Experienced in Data, VoIP, IP/MPLS Network, DWDM networks, LAN , WAN Installations and other Access Nodes like Fixed Broadband, Dedicated Internet ,Satellite , Microwave Radio , WIFI ,Mobile Broadband and Network Management System.
