Network Scheduling Analyst
The role of Network Scheduling Analyst (NSA) is responsible for driving and supporting the schedule development and network planning process through robust analysis of commercial and operational considerations. The successful incumbent will also support respective Managers in developing, analyzing, optimizing and monitoring the schedules within the schedule publication timelines for the Fiji Airways Group.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide robust analysis with alternative solutions in the development and maintaining of Fiji Airways Groups short and long-term network schedule plan.
- Ensure all regulations and guidelines in relation to market access, frequency, crew duty limitations, maintenance down time, block times and turnaround times are followed.
- Responsible for Fiji Airways Group’s 18-month schedule preparation and publication.
- Maintain accurate system input / updates and distribute to various departments/divisions including codeshare and commercial partners (airlines).
- Filing of operating programme with respective authorities prior to operation of flights.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders in getting necessary authorization when required.
- Obtain slots, seasonal landing approvals, codeshare synchronization as well as analyzing and implementing all ad-hoc change requests.
- Develop network schedule scenarios, communicate with key stakeholders throughout the company and create presentations that clearly explain each proposal.
- Liaise with Revenue Management for the ongoing monitoring of Fiji Airways Group capacity in line with forecast demand and market conditions.
- Proactively identify opportunities for schedule optimization, develop and recommend adjustments to the Fiji Airways Group.
- Communicate with Engineering Team to ensure aircraft maintenance plans are incorporated into the company schedule plans.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on aircraft schedules during maintenance requirements, ad hoc schedules and charters.
- Communicate and work with key stakeholders on various operational issues to minimize the impact on achieving the company’s business objectives.
- Responsible for operational and commercial sign-off activities for schedule proposals, and undertake schedule publication (implementation process).
- Liaise with other airlines and codeshare partners to seek their schedule information for all joint services and ensures Distribution system is updated accordingly.
- Review aircraft seasonal block times and recommend for changes based on in-depth analysis.
- Critically analyze and prepare management report on key performance indicators on a regular basis.
- Assist in studies undertaken by Network / Commercial Department on new and current routes including projects related to market research and development. Assist in fleet planning studies as required.
- Participate and manage network-scheduling projects as required by management.
- Regularly analyze and provide management insights on key Scheduling performance indicators.
- Critically review the exiting schedule and provide alternative scenarios to accommodate requested charter with minimum disruption to existing Fiji Airways Groups schedule.
- Provide costing and quotations for charter flights in conjunction with the Network steam.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognized university.
- Post Graduate qualification in Business or Operations Research Management would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of airline operation and scheduling systems is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years in the airline industry; 2 years of which in Commercial / Financial / Strategic / Network Planning.
- Experience in strategic / network / commercial planning, finance, business analysis / modeling.
- Knowledge of network carrier business model and broad knowledge of airline industry.
- Sound knowledge of ASA’s regulatory environment in which FJ is operating.
- Good understanding of aircraft, route, and network economics.
- Well-developed numerical and analytical skills with a focus on developing insights not limited to analysis.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and build effective relationships at working levels within the business and with external parties.
- Possess good negotiating abilities and able to influence people.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to scheduling problems using own initiative, thinking logically and/or laterally.
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a fast changing / competitive environment with innovative business solutions.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimum amount of supervision.
- Computer literate including proficiency in network and/or scheduling tools, word processing, excel spreadsheets and project management software.
- The ability to use multiple data sources to combine information and data to provide the basis for a decision.
