Job Overview

Hastings Deering is currently recruiting a Mining Support Representative to support our customer base in PNG. This role will be based at Mine sites across PNG.

We are searching for someone with impeccable work ethics with demonstrated history of supporting customers to seize opportunities and taking responsibility for achieving excellence while working as part of an experienced team, dedicated to supporting our PNG Resource Industry customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the both the customer and the wider Hastings Deering Team to ensure optimum fleet performance.
  • Provide guidance to the customer on best practice operation and maintenance of the equipment.
  • ​ Offer technical support to maintenance personnel including failure analysis and complex repairs.
  • Participate in and assist with customer planning and component forecasting functions. Assist in regular reviews of spare parts holdings and ensure stock levels are appropriate to meet departmental requirements.
  • Assist where required with the planning and coordination of major Caterpillar machine overhauls which may occur on site or at a local Hastings Deering Business Centre.
  • Work with business units to improve customer experience through clear communications and demand planning.
  • Develop key customer relationships.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large, diverse organization.
  • Experience in the mining, mining services or heavy earthmoving industries (knowledge of mine operation system functions and capabilities and mine severity analysis and production drivers), preferably in PNG.
  • Experience in dealer service, mining, mining services or heavy. earthmoving industries with a knowledge of Cat® services and parts.
  • Previous experience with the Cat Technology suite desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships.
  • The ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously.
