Fiji Airways seeks to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual for the role of Manager Payments in our Finance team.
Reporting to the Senior ManagerFinancial Services, you will leadand oversee the payments function, ensuring accurate, efficient, and secure processing of financial transactions related to vendor payments, settlements, and other payment activities. Your strategic leadership, expertise, and attention to detail will play a critical role in optimizing payment processes, enhancing financial controls, and maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement a comprehensive payments strategy aligned with the airline’s financial objectives and industry best practices.

Oversee the execution of various payment methods, including electronic fund transfers, wire transfers, checks, and other digital payment solutions.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor payments, verifying payment details, coding, and adherence to payment terms and contractual obligations.

Prepare regular financial reports and analysis related to payments for management and stakeholders.

Establish and enforce strong internal controls and adherence to financial regulations, policies, and standards.

Collaborate with internal audit teams to support audit readiness and provide necessary documentation.

Implement new technologies and tools to streamline payment processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Work with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure robust payment data protection.

Collaborate with various departments, including finance, procurement, and IT, to integrate and optimize payment processes across the organization.

Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals within the payments function, setting performance goals, providing guidance, and facilitating professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.

Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts payables, payments, or financial operations, with demonstrated leadership and managerial experience.

Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and internal controls related to payments.

Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and payment platforms.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.

Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to accuracy and financial integrity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Strong project management skills and adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
