The Manager Ground Operations – Nadi is responsible for the oversight of ground operations at the Nadi (NAN) Station for Fiji Airways, Fiji Link, FBO and adhoc operators. This role manages the daily flight schedule ensuring departures remain on time, arrivals are met and handled with efficiency and turn time are achieved at NAN.

This role maintains active and efficient performance oversight of Company Staff, ATS (Fiji) Ltd, FAL and other service providers including safety, quality and security policy compliance to achieve a safe operation delivering target OTP, budgeted Revenue and other exemplary Customer Experience at the NAN Airport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentors and coaches staff members to enable their full potential to be realised and provides advice to achieve practical solutions to on the day occurrences.
  • Sets Safety as a priority, identifying risks in the airport operation and developing preventive action plans in order to maintain safe operations.
  • Sets clear performance standards to direct report(s) and Ground Handlers to ensure safety and security on all fields of operations, customer, facilities and working environments.
  • Identifies analyses, communicates issues and trends, and proactively proposes improved and/or corrective policies.
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement towards Making Every Moment Better, achieving On-Time Performance and overall station outputs.
  • Manages effective commercial relationships at an operational level respecting budget constraints and whilst maintaining or improving quality.
  • Ensures timely investigation of Customer Complaints and remediate root cause through process improvements and performance management where required.
  • Analyses station performance against critical measures, assists Department leadership in developing effective action plans, and ensures accountability for implementation of solutions to achieve performance objectives.
  • Provides guidance, ensures accountability of third party service providers to Fiji Airways, and recommend fast and effective solutions to resolve short falls.
  • Oversees station audits and inspections and works proactively to propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Appraises and ensures compliance with safety, security, and operational requirements by Fiji Airways / Fiji Link and other regulatory authorities (Customs, Immigration, Bio Security, Health and AVSEC) at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a Degree or have equivalent operational experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of Aviation Ramp Management experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience managing cross functional operations and be able to lead and direct a team to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Must have functional knowledge of Amadeus Altea applications which includes Customer Management (CM), Inventory (FM) and Altea Reservations.
  • To have a DG Acceptance Certificate will be an advantage.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong analytical skills.
  • Must be Customer Service oriented with strong organisational and problem solving skills.
