Local Purchasing Officer
We are now hiring a Local Purchasing Officer to be attached to our Finance department based in Lae. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s local purchasing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtaining quotes where required reflecting prices, quantity and timeliness of deliveries
- Raising and sending approved PO’s to main suppliers
- Receiving local/overseas orders from main suppliers
- Managing deliveries based upon preparation
- Scheduling dispatch of received items to proper department in a timely manner
- Matching of confirmed invoices with PO’s for payment
- Managing of orders to fast track expected date of deliveries
- Updating of Daily receiving stocks
- Do follow ups on outstanding orders from suppliers
Skills and Specifications
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
- Two (2) plus years’ experience in Procurement
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- Knowledge in Sage 300 is a plus
- High level communication skills both written and verbal
- Well organized and attention to detail
- Posses customer service and negotiation skills
- Ability to initiate and is honest
- Must be vaccinated
