Job Overview

The Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) reports to the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator and is responsible for performing aircraft maintenance and provide supervision for personnel on the ramp and in the hangar.

This role is also responsible for completing standard documentation ensuring work is completed according to approved technical data issued by Fiji Airways, CAAF & the Original Equipment Manufacturer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator to accomplish aircraft maintenance as assigned.
  • Provides direct supervision of LAMEs / AMEs / Tradesmen / Utility Hands on Ramp and during Maintenance in the Hangar.
  • Provides relief-servicing duties during the absence of an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator as directed by the Manager Aircraft Base & Line Maintenance.
  • Ensures work safety at all times and in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety at Work Act, the MMOE, the Technical Operating Procedures and Line/ETOPS Manual.
  • Certifies documentation in accordance with standards provided by the appropriate regulatory authority’s ANR 145C maintenance organisation MMOE, Technical Operating Procedures and Line / ETOPS Manual.
  • Promotes and exhibits disciplined work practices.
  • Performs instructions given by the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator in their work area.
  • Performs Maintenance Control Centre duties when directed by the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator or Manager Aircraft Base & Line Maintenance.
  • Accomplishes Travelling Ground Engineer duties when required by the Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator or Manager Aircraft Base & Line Maintenance.
  • Complies with the relevant employment contracts and the Company Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Promotes and exhibiting service culture principles consistent with Fiji Airways Values.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Successfully completed an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course with approved Tertiary organization.
  • CAAF License Without Type Rating or recognized AMEL.
  • Successfully completed Approved Aircraft Type Rating Courses and hold valid Type Ratings for at least 2 of Fiji Airways or Fiji Link fleet aircraft type.
  • Five years’ work experience in Aircraft Maintenance as a Certifying LAME.
  • Demonstrates  excellent Defect Troubleshooting and Rectification Skills.
  • Proficient with common Microsoft Applications and operational knowledge of an ERP system in an Engineering and Maintenance environment.
