Job Overview

Tourism Fiji’s primary role is to promote Fiji as a world class tourist destination for the purpose of maximizing sustainable and long term benefits to Fiji. We are seeking a results-oriented individual who is passionate about Fiji to join our Team in the role of:

The position is based at Nadi and reports to the Chief Operations Officer with regular liaison with Tourism Fiji’s global regional team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake technical duties to resolve problems and faults, and correct malfunctions, documenting results in accordance with agreed procedures, maintaining accurate records of user request and outcomes, providing timely and accurate feedback to users.
  • Carrying out routine networking tasks and maintenance following agreed standards and procedures.
  • Install, maintain, and configure hardware and/or software complying with agreed standards and maintain records of all hardware/software items that have been installed and removed so that configuration management records can be updated.
  • Test, evaluate and make decisions about new technology for Tourism Fiji.
  • Provide routine training on the effective use of systems, products and services.
  • Providing information on the full range of capabilities to assist the team in making more effective use of systems, products and services.
  • Participate in projects to introduce and update IT systems and services and to roll out these services to users.

Qualifications, Experience and Essential Attributes:

  • The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in Information System and Computer Science from a recognized University with at least 3-4 years proven experience in a similar field.
  • Proven experience in working for a government statutory body or a global operations environment will be an advantage
  • Possess knowledge of domain name set ups, DNS, records and email systems and has attention to details.
  • Possess strong negotiation skills to ensure that the organization secures the best deals when procuring and IT related/technical services etc.
  • Ability to develop and implement project plans, set goals and analyze outcomes.
  • Sound financial analysis and budgeting skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Competent in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Windows servers, anti-virus systems and IT disaster recovery mechanisms

An attractive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
