The International Sales Manager is responsible for revenue growth of travel agency and related distribution channels outside of Solomon Islands. Working closely with team members in the airline’s Australia and Honiara offices they oversee the international Reservations function and provide support to international travel agents, wholesalers, groups and corporate clients of Solomon Airlines. They also manage the airline’s international General Sales Agents (GSAs) relationships globally and ensure the necessary tools and activities to improve and monitor international performance.


To manage Solomon Airlines international Reservations capability, servicing and distribution channels outside Solomon Islands, to grow revenue from international markets.


  • Responsibility for managing the airline’s international General Sales Agents (GSAs)
  • Supporting international distribution partners, travel agents, wholesalers and corporate customers via phone, email and in person
  • Managing the international Sales and Reservations function
  • Oversight of the distribution strategy for international markets
  • Understanding of the market mix by market to support strategy development
  • Contribute and improve the overall revenue of the airline
  • Ensure partner and client satisfaction in all interactions
  • Work within a small team with a ‘can-do’ attitude and deliver on the Solomon Airlines values
  • Make Solomon Airlines the airline of choice for international travel to the Solomon Islands
  • Represent Solomon Airlines at trade shows, industry nights etc to raise awareness
  • Development and maintenance sales and marketing material
  • Development and maintenance of pricing strategy for international fares
  • Reporting performance of GSAs, agents/wholesalers and corporate accounts
  • Proactively pursue business development opportunities to increase revenue
  • Work with Tourism Solomons to jointly promote the Solomon Islands as a destination

Qualification and Experience


  • Certification in Sales, Business Development, Travel or related field
  • Minimum of five years work experience in travel industry sales
  • Previous experience in the airline industry preferred
  • Previous team supervisory experience essential

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in Amadeus Reservations System (GDS) essential
  • Sound knowledge of airline and travel industry dynamics
  • Possess proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • High attention to detail
