We are seeking a Supervisor/Trainer – Fixed & Mobile Maintenance for our People – Training Department. Reporting to the Training Supervisor, the successful applicant will mainly be responsible for providing quality, timely and accurate mechanical training and technical support services to applicable personnel, whilst adhering to all statutory requirements and Company’s safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Undertake reporting and scheduling of applicable training in an accurate and timely manner with an emphasis on training systems and assessment tools
  • Provides learning, training and assessment services to the Hidden Valley project as a whole
  • Coach, guide and manage the team’s client group
  • Develop competency statements to allow training plans to be determined
  • Schedule of site training events
  • Develop and deliver inductions and other training content as required
  • Deliver quality & competent training to the mechanical maintenance employees and contractors alike
  • Provide a coaching & mentoring role to the mechanical maintenance employees
  • Provide training tools to enable maintenance and projects tasks to be performed safely and effectively
  • Analyse and reassess equipment maintenance requirements and frequencies and make recommendations to the maintenance planning departments
  • Liaise with mobile technical maintenance personnel to ensure asset downtime is eliminated and assets are utilised optimally

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Either a Machinist, Metal & Fabrication or Welder Trade background
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • PNG NTC accredited Trainer or equivalent
  • Sound technical mechanical knowledge
  • Proven track record of developing & delivering training programs within Mobile Maintenance in mining industry or similar
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to coach and develop subordinate personnel
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence change
  • Sound planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong safety focused
  • Possess valid and current PNG driving license
  • Intermediate to high level computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The above role is Hidden Valley Mine based.
