Tourism Fiji is looking for an experienced and qualified digital marketing star to fill the pivotal role of Head of Digital, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer. Based in Nadi, Fiji, with a team of 3, this key role is responsible for:
– Global digital marketing
– Digital development and
– Social media
To succeed in this role, the applicant must be able to demonstrate considerable experience managing and optimising commercially-focussed websites and social media sites, preferably for tourism related organisations, though this is not critical. What is critical is a complete understanding of digital marketing, mar-tech and conversion optimisation, working with a small high-performing team and a global digital agency.
Under Tourism Fiji’s six (6) key strategic priorities, the Head of Digital plays a key role in Tourism Fiji Sustainably Growing Demand. They must epitomise the Tourism Fiji Values – that is to Go Boldly, Be Awesome, Make a Difference through
Together we Will and to Put our Hand Up and Make it Happen.
Specific key measures include growth in Site visits, New Users and Leads to Operators at a top level, with further key metrics reported weekly including ROI, CTR, positions on SERPs, keyword relevance, conversion optimisation and SEO / SEM. Expert knowledge in on and off page factors, and of Google tools is a requirement for this role, coupled with the ability to direct digital development to achieve goals and continual innovation in Tourism Fiji’s web and social presence.
This role works very closely with the Chief Marketing Officer of Tourism Fiji as part of a high-performing and supportive marketing team, and is a key senior role in the organisation. They are expected to be able to work proactively and autonomously, and not only follow the TF Corporate Plan’s strategic priorities and measures, but to develop their own Plans annually, setting targets and goals for the Digital team, in line with Tourism Fiji objectives.
The digital channels and assets owned by Tourism Fiji are critical to provide the source of reliable and up-to-date information regarding Fiji and its many regions and tourism operators. Working with conversion partners via data sharing is also critical.
The role works with our global digital agency partner, and must have experience directing and working with an agency, and most importantly regularly reporting results via a dashboard to the Executive and Board on request.
Qualification, Experience and Essential Attributes:
- A Degree in the field of Tourism, Marketing or Digital media, or any other similar field
- 8 years of experience in a similar role or at least 3 years of proven leadership experience in digital marketing.
- Practical understanding of digital metrics, and importantly be able to translate the analytics to ensure key Executive are provided with the information they need to market Fiji appropriately – therefore demonstrated experience in analytics and report generation is a must.
- Adaptable, versatile, and the ability to keep up to date with consumer and marketing trends and advancements in technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent financial and analytic abilities.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
The role also has a considerable global digital marketing budget, and therefore must be able to balance costs and work with the agency closely on managing the always-on performance, within cost structures.
This position demands an individual that preferably has had exposure to a global facing, or multi-region organisation, juggling the demands and marketing campaigns of multiple markets at the one time, to drive growth to Tourism Fiji’s digital channels, which in turn leads to further leads to tourism operators, and growth in visitor arrivals to Fiji.
