* Head Chef & Training and Development Position – Full Time *

Amoa Resort Savaii is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals with previous experience in working in Samoa and/or the Pacific Islands in a resort or hospitality role to work in our medium size resort in Savaii.

Located a 1 hour ferry from the International Airport, you’ll be able to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and work close to many of Samoas best scenic and tourist sites.

Working in our award winning restaurant, your previous experience in working with Pacific/European fusion dishes will ensure that our restaurant maintains the standard of cuisine that many across Samoa and beyond have travel to Savaii for when in Samoa.

Your experience in multitasking will be highly regarded as we are providing a-la-carte, function and catering menus to our mix of leisure and corporate clientele 7 days a week.

Training and Development of our up and coming chefs and kitchen hands will be ongoing and will ensure your success in this unique role.

Key Responsibilities;

Experience working in a kitchen catering to a-la-carte, catering and function menus

Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques and stock control, food preparations, plating and overall standard of the food service across the kitchen at all times.

Guest service and experience and passion for working harmoniously with all service departments

Experience in training and development of new kitchen team members (and other kitchen personnel)

Ensure quality in hygiene immaculate personal grooming standards is maintained at all times

Proven experience will be required by providing us with:

All Relevant qualifications and 3 current references
Proven passion for the industry and contributing to the development of the Samoan food movement.

Willingness to follow direction and work in coordination with on-site Directors and resort management.

Strong communication and organisational skills;
A great work ethic and team player;

Commitment, reliability and determination

We are a smoke and alcohol free workplace. Employment may be subject to a police check and requires contacts for 3 current references.

Visa to reside and work in Samoa must be willing to be obtained.

Live-In/Working couples as well as qualified chefs in Samoa are encouraged to apply.
