DEMI CHEF – PASTRY
This role reports to the Lounge Manager and specialises in the preparation and production of all bakery, pastry and desserts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the production of all bakery items as required

Instructs and leads subordinates through food preparation ensuring adherance to Food Safety Regulations at all times

Liaises with head Chef/CDPs to prepare and deliver products based on planned menu cycles
-
Ensures consistent qualify of bakery and pastry items in daily food preparation
-
Keeps up to date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques
-
Respnsible for monitoring stock movement and replenishment ensuring minimum wastage

Actively takes part in buffet settings and special functions
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-
Must have a good understanding of Food Safety Regulations
-
A minimum of Certificate IV in Baking & Patisserie is required from a recognised tertiary institution
-
Must have at least 2 years of experience

Must be able to work irregular work patterns and shift work
-
Must be able to work independently and complete assigned tasks as required
-
Must be able to prepare cafe style offerings with a flair in the art of plating desserts
