Job Overview

The Data Assistant position is an established position created primarily to input all course, programme and student data at Laucala Campus on to the Banner System under the supervision of the Coordinator Student Data and in close consultation with the Coordinators and Managers for all the key processes at Student Administrative Services. These processes include admissions, registration, completion, tests, examinations, results and graduation. The position also provides support in the entry and update of student data; training of Banner Operators at other USP Regional Campuses.

The incumbent will be expected to input approved data according to the daily schedule prepared by the Coordinator Student Data and to complete standard reports and records required by different stakeholders within agreed turnaround times and according to the timelines set out in the annual work plan of the Data Team.

In addition, the incumbents will be expected to carry out and complete regular data scrubbing exercises of student data for Laucala Campus and to support those for other USP Campuses across the region. This will be determined by the Coordinator Student Data at set dates each semester.

Other services that the incumbent is expected to provide includes facilitating and conducting training on Banner Student Module and MIS Online for other users as well as providing feedback for the update of the Banner Student User Manual.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Completion of a diploma level qualification in Office Management or relevant fields with one (1) year of relevant work related experience; or
  • Certificate level qualification in Office Management or relevant fields with three (3) years post-certificate relevant work experience; or
  • Completion of a post-trades certificate or advanced certificate Office Management or relevant fields and five (5) years of relevant experience and where required be a licensed professional; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training;
  • The ability to carry out and complete tasks on time, experience and competency in MS Excel, a strong customer service orientation, good inter-personal skills, good oral and written English Language skills, and good organisational skills

The position is available for a term of of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

FJ $17,865.71 to FJ $23,876.53 per annum.
