Job Overview

We currently seeking to recruit a Component Officer for our Commercial- HV Logistics Department, reporting to the Supervisor Warehousing. The successful applicant will be responsible for working alongside planners to facilitate smooth and efficient component planning, though monitoring and documenting the movement of components to and from various suppliers, OEM’s and site wide.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and facilitate the administration, logistics, repair and cost implications of component repairs
  • Work with planning to ensure the smooth flow of work and parts availability
  • Ensure safety and environment management of risks and hazards
  • Build relationship for open communication with operations management to maximise production
  • Work with maintenance team to ensure KPI targets are achieved
  • Regularly attend meetings to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions as required and develop improvement plans for cost and reliability
  • Regularly review component classifications with the inventory team in conjunction with MFM planning
  • Assist in the ongoing development and compliance of the departmental objectives, particularly in area of influence as well as company objectives and strategic plans

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Grade 12 level qualification
  • 3 or more years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a mining industry or similar
  • Good knowledge of heavy mobile equipment spares and components
  • Medium to high level computer skills, with MS Word & Excel
  • Have hands on experience in the use of Pronto
  • Able to strategically focus and align to company objectives
  • Strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral & written
  • Good understanding of site safety procedures
  • Prepared to work to flexible company roster and varying work hours as required
  • Be able to work in team & multi-cultural environment
  • Having a current PNG’s class 3 or 6 Driver’s licence would be an advantage
