Job Overview

South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG) is Fiji’s most experienced and award-winning cruise operator offering a range of award-winning products and services throughout the stunning Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands. South Sea Cruises operates a modern fleet of fast catamarans, an overnight cruise ship, a modern sailing catamaran, several speed boats, and tender boats as well as Fiji’s two most popular day trip islands.

We are currently seeking to recruit Chef De Parties – Pastry for our 34-cabin small ship; MV Fiji Princess and the world’s first beach club, Malamala Beach Club. This position directly reports to the Corporate Executive Chef and Head Chef.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Takes active part in a work environment that support a successful safety culture. Is a dynamic contributor in following safety policy and procedures.
  • Assures all dessert production, as assigned by the supervisor, following all recipes as provided by the corporate office.
  • Informs the Head Chef whenever there is a problem regarding food items, in order to provide a fast and effective solution.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Delivering exceptional food experience at the respective locations.
  • Experience in delivering an exceptional desserts and pastries menu
  • 2 years experience and able to work without supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the tourism and/or hospitality industry is preferred, but not essential.
  • Certificate in Culinary and Cookery
  • Ability to work well under pressure and consistently deliver to the company standards
