Job Overview
Broiler Farm Manager
The above position will be based in one of our broiler farms located at the central division and directly reports to our Farm Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day running and operations of the farm in accordance with established standard operating procedures and poultry guidelines
- Ensure sheds are prepared on time and given the required rest period
- Follow placement and harvesting plan
- Inspect quality of day-olds during receiving and take appropriate actions should be required
- Achieve required body weights
- Maintain mortality percentage below the given targets
- General medication management
- Achieve all farm performance targets
- Managed overall farm inventory including the broilers housed
- Maintain shed performance and batch file recording
- General husbandry management
- Ensure full compliance towards Bio Security procedures
- Supervision and control of farm employees
- Conduct training and development of employees
- Comply with all OHS requirements
- Ratification of all farm nonconformance identified through internal auditing program
Key Competency Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in any of the following: Agriculture, Animal husbandry or veterinary science
- At least 5 years of working experience on a managerial role
- Matured, self-driven and ability to perform without supervision
- Ability to live in company-provided accommodation
- Ability to perform shift work and extra yards when required
