The accountant will oversee the financial accounting and management reporting functions. This role involves preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports to provide insights into financial performance.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Lead and prepare budgeting and forecasting.
- Financial analysis and reporting.
- Manage Compliance and manage auditing.
- Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including both financial and management accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
- The role may require occasional travel for training or audit purposes.
