We are seeking a dynamic and talented accountant to take ownership of the various operations of work across the business from both a domestic and international aspect. The Accountant role has recently been created to cater for Moana Rentals growth and develop wider financial accuracy across the business whilst also providing hands on support to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily bank reconciliations on Xero.
  • Processing payable invoices and payments, including cheque preparations and online payments.
  • Record sales invoices daily, on Xero.
  • Reconcile different systems and ensure the accuracy of sales.
  • Arrange refunds and liaise with customers.
  • Follow up accounts receivables.
  • Prepare GST Returns and file with MCR.
  • Liaise with team lead and finance manager to finalise annual accounts.
  • Ensure necessary journals and other reconciliations are ready for monthly accounts for team lead.
  • Actively market and promote Moana Rentals.
  • Collaborating with finance & sales team.
  • Other ad – hoc work as requested.

Requirements:

  • 2 – 3 Years practical experience in a similar capacity.
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized University.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in Xero Accounting Package is a must.
  • Computer Literacy: Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Passionate about numbers and an eye for detail.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize work.
  • The ability to produce accurate financial data.
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Samoan citizen residence.
