Wheels and Brakes Assistant - MRO

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Engineering Department (MRO) for a qualified and experienced Wheels and Brakes Assistant.

Based in Port Moresby, this position will report to Stores Supervisor.

The Wheels & Brakes Assistant will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Carry out each assigned task in a safe manner and being aware of all safety requirements applicable to each assigned task.
  • Performing all assigned duties in accordance with maintenance organisation exposition (MOE).
  • Notifying the supervisor whenever inspection verification is required during a maintenance task.
  • Seeking advice from Supervisor when difficulties arise in completing an assigned task.
  • For component servicing (wheels), working as per company authorisation functions.
  • Ensuring all work assigned will be performed in accordance with the approved manuals, policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring stage inspections are carried and recorded as necessary.
  • Keeping the workshop in a neat and tidy condition at all times.
  • Mandatory use of PPE at all times, whilst on duty as per the Uniform and PPE Policy.
  • Attending mandatory Toolbox meetings
  • Other duties as notified by the Supervisor, MAM or AMS

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes:

  • Grade 12 Higher School Certificate
  • Must have a good command of the English language
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Must possess a Trade Certificate
  • Must possess knowledge and/or experience of a workshop environment, ability to operate equipment used in semiskilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.
