The Opportunity:

Our client in the oil & gas industry is seeking a qualified and experienced Treasurer to join their team. The Treasurer will report to the Treasury/Bank Relationships Manager and will be responsible for managing the financial operations related to our client’s significant projects in the region and managing treasury operations across multiple legal entities and exploration licenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and the Support Services Centre to identify and prepare invoices for payment. Ensure all approvals are obtained timely and process payments efficiently.
  • Monitor and manage multiple bank accounts for different legal entities. Ensure correct bank accounts are used for payments and manage authorised signatories with the banks.
  • Prepare and process intra-company payments and non-standard beneficiary payments. Execute FX trades with PNG banks and resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare monthly expenditure forecasts, cash call amounts, internal and external debt drawdown requests, and reports as per Bank of PNG requirements. Ensure accuracy and consistency of reports and maintain up-to-date records in SAP.
  • Follow up with banks on payment issues, cooperate with Accounts Payable to monitor and unblock invoices, and provide ad-hoc reports and support as needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or equivalent.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, good computer and analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Excel are essential. Familiarity with SAP FI-AP, FI-TR is desirable.
  • Relevant experience in financial management, preferably within the energy sector or large-scale oil and gas projects.
