Pepper Advantage Hub (Fiji) is seeking a competent Test Analyst who must have a good understanding of testing methodologies, test analysis, test coverage, test process as well as good technical general knowledge.
The successful candidate must have a basic understanding of SQL to be able to validate user interface, calculated output, overnight processes, and reports are correctly implemented. Knowledge of mortgage servicing and/or the Phoebus loan engine is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review and support creation of Test Plans based on information from various document types, of sufficiently high quality to be shared externally with clients and other key stakeholders.
- Develop knowledge of the internal mortgage servicing systems in order to identify the impact of change on the systems by liaising with Business Analysts, Developers and End Users.
- Write Test Scripts using well defined testing techniques, ensuring prerequisites, steps and expected results are clearly defined.
- Confirm changes by running Test Scripts, giving comprehensive status of test execution, defects and raising risks in daily and weekly meetings.
- Raise defects and use technical knowledge and experience to provide relevant information to support Developers to fix bugs.
- Support the business whilst they are performing User Acceptance Testing, including environment support, investigating and overcoming issues, and raising defects.
- Provide evidence of completed testing through robust Test Closure Documentation
- Identify ways to improve Test process, ensuring benefits and plans to implement any change are shared and reviewed by management and peers.
Skills and experience required:
- A good understanding of formal testing approaches, ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation or higher is desirable.
- An effective contributor within a team that has diverse skills and talents.
- Determined nature, responsible for owning assigned work all the way to delivery.
- Prepared to context shift to high priority tasks when required.
- Effectively develop working relationships with different members of the business.
- A strong communicator able to relay information competently in an organised manner.
- Demonstrates curiosity and attention to detail.
- Able to manage their own time effectively.
- Technical Skills:
o Basic SQL knowledge, e.g. Select, Insert, Delete, Joins essential
o Basic knowledge in programming / scripting desirable
o Knowledge of mortgage servicing or similar desirable
o Knowledge of loan engine software, e.g. Phoebus desirable
- Has a robust understanding of regulation and associated legislative policy and the impacts these have on the business and the role.
