The Organisation

The Ifira Ports Development Services Limited (IPDS) is one of the three of the main ports in Vanuatu. The IPDS Ltd port is the main port for all international freight and containers cargo arriving in the capital while the Government international wharf is dedicated for all cruise vessels, gas and petrol tankers.

The Position

The Terminal Supervisor will be responsible for the total day-to-day operational performance of the company. Their primary aim and objective will be to achieve maximum productivity, effectively and efficiently through the coordination of all terminal operational activities associated with the IPDS.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Minimum 12 (10) years work related experience

► Be familiar with general Work Health and Safety requirements

► At least five years’ experience at a supervisor’s level in all aspects of terminal operations.

► Be commercially astute

► Good planning and organisational skills

► Good oral written and verbal communication skills

► Be highly effective and efficient in completing all assigned job duties

► Ensure compliance with all operational regulations and safe operational transport procedures.

► Maintain a Safety Standard of Excellence at all times

► Have keen observational skills and be alert

► Be reliable, trustworthy, be able to work under pressure, and have strong problem-solving skills

► Maintain and control on all operational performances

► Maintain personal standards which reflect the corporate image of being professional effective and efficient

► Able to work independently and as part of a team
