Organisation Summary
The Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission (FCCC) is an independent statutory body established under Section 7 of the FCCC Act 2010 that promotes effective competition and informed markets, encourages fair trading, protects consumers and businesses from restrictive practices, controls prices of regulated industries and other markets where competition is lessened or limited.
Purpose & Nature of Role
The purpose of the Senior HR & Training Officer role at the Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is to lead the development and implementation of effective human resource policies and training programs that align with the organization's strategic objectives. This position is critical in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee capabilities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The Senior HR & Training Officer plays a key role in driving organizational excellence through strategic HR management and professional development initiatives. The role of the Senior HR & Training Officer is dynamic and multifaceted, requiring a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and interpersonal skills. This position is pivotal in driving the FCCC's commitment to excellence, fairness, and continuous improvement in its workforce.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, HR Analytics, while a master's in business administration (MBA) or a Training of Trainings Module 1 – 4 is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role, proven record in highly advanced HR abilities with an operational vision.
• Be well versed with the applicable laws pertaining to employment such as the ERA 2007, Health and Safety at Work Act 1996, and other relevant labour laws & regulations in Fiji;
• Significant experience in providing advice on complex employee relations issues and managing Quality management projects.
• Creativity, energetic and innovative individual with excellent leadership, change management and staff management skills with the ability to influence and drive change across a diverse stakeholder base.
• Seasoned Business Excellence Evaluators and Certified Training Officer from Fiji National University
• Experience in managing employee relations and resolving conflicts.
• Experience in developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives.
• Proven ability to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Proven ability to conduct HR audits and manage HR-related risks.
• Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (HRIS) for HR operations and data management.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security principles related to HR records.
