Position Details

About the Role:

This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Desktop Services Lead. The successful candidate will support the Team Lead, mentor and guide Hardware Service Technicians, and manage BSP’s desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and other hardware under the hardware services team's responsibility. Responsibilities include resolving complex hardware issues, adhering to fixed asset procedures and standards, and consistently delivering high levels of customer service and service quality.

Key Deliverables:
  • Ensure all necessary devices, including desktops, laptops, and tablets, are equipped with BSP’s Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and the appropriate business and banking applications, utilizing automated client management tools.
  • Utilize, maintain, support and continue to build knowledge and skills on automated client management tool.
  • Undertake complex tasks within the team and collaborate with vendors as needed to resolve technical issues related to all hardware under the responsibility of the hardware support team.
  • Ensure project tasks are completed to high standards, including working beyond normal hours and business travel when required.
  • Lead and participate in annual Desktop/Laptop refresh exercises, including provisioning, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Mentor team members to ensure timely responses to service desk requests, escalating as needed.
  • Recommend, implement, and train the team on technology tools to enhance processes, while maintaining technical and user guides.
  • Comply with the Asset Management policy for asset acquisition, transfer, and inventory management.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in Information Technology or related IT field. CompTIA+ Certification.
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop client (Windows 10) Operating Systems Intermediate Android and IOS Operating System knowledge Proficient Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Advanced Hardware knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge on peripheral devices.
  • Advanced technical skills in PC, Laptop and general Hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • SOE deployments and support Basic Active Directory knowledge Intermediate knowledge of SCCM.
  • Working knowledge of client operating systems and various business applications. Proven technical capability in troubleshooting Hardware and software related issues. Experience with working in a customer facing/oriented environment.
  • Experience working with a project team.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of practice/experience in hardware support role Previous experience in working with Active Directory.
