As the Seamstress, you will be providing sewing and mending services of guest clothes, hotel linen and hotel uniforms. Making sure you will keep everything looking snip and new. Additionally, you will be an added hand to the Laundry team providing timely laundry services to the guests and internal customers.

A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Performs sewing duties including altering, fitting and mending for guests, hotel linen and uniforms
  • Cuts, tailors, mends and alters uniforms
  • Assists in the preparation of special functions
  • Maintains equipment and keeps own working area clean
  • Maintains sewing supplies such as threads, buttons, zippers, linen etc.
  • Support the Laundry Services of guests and internal customers.
  • Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you.

What we need from you

  • Experience – you’ll have at least one year of seamstress duties under your belt
  • On top of sewing equipment, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic sewing tools, equipment & supplies.
  • It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important
  • Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
  • Literacy skills - reading, writing and basic math's skills
  • Flexible attitude to shifts – you may need to work nights, weekends and/or public holidays
