What is the job?
We’re looking for a Reservations Agent to join our amazing team at Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you'll mostly:
- Convert bedroom accommodation enquiries into bookings on the phone, in person, or by email.
- Process reservations by e-mail, telephone, and in person.
- Process reservations from the Central Reservations Office and travel agents' reservations.
- Record and process using the OPERA system, cancellations and amendments via phone or email promptly and in line with brand standards.
- Manage hotel selling strategy by opening and closing at specified rates linked to the hotel’s business plan and as directed by your line manager.
- Organize traces for follow up - liaise and communicate special requirements to other departments, e.g., baby cots, VIP’s and late arrivals, and guest transportation.
- Prepare reports using both OPERA and other computer software such as Word and Excel.
- Sell the Crowne Plaza Fiji products and services using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques.
- Ensure Brand Standards are always followed.
- Prepare revenue-related reports when requested.
- Reconfirm bookings, ensure that correct guest names are received, and check arrival times, rates, and all other information on the bookings.
- Ensure work files are kept organised and current with all required information.
- Monitor and handle inquiry calls on a timely basis.
- Ensure that all incoming calls are answered within 3 rings with proper greetings and telephone etiquette.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
- Promote and upsell all Food and Beverage and Banqueting facilities whenever possible.
What we need from you:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of any other foreign language is an advantage.
- Trustworthy with attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in their work.
- Pro-active and energetic with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to multitask with prioritization skills.
- Proficient in the use of the Opera System and other MS Office suite, eg, Word and Excel.
