Key Responsibilities
A. Development Functions
- Delivery and coordination of rugby development programmes for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and schools
- Implementation of FRFU development frameworks, participation initiatives, and pathway programmes
- Oversight of grassroots, age-grade, club, and community rugby activities
B. Domestic Competition & Regional Rugby Operations
- Coordination and support of domestic competitions, including:
- Schools Rugby (Primary, Secondary, and Development competitions)
- Provincial Rugby competitions and related activities
- Operational planning, scheduling, and delivery support for regional competitions and events
- Liaison with Provincial Unions, schools, clubs, and competition stakeholders
C. High Performance, Women’s & Inclusion Support
- Assisting High Performance (HP) teams within the region as required
- Supporting Women’s Rugby and Girls in Rugby (GiR Plus) programmes and initiatives
- Providing operational and development support to the Referees Association within the region
D. Governance, Reporting and Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with FRFU policies, regulations, safeguarding requirements, and health & safety standards
- Submission of operational, competition, and development reports as required (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Supporting audits, reviews, and monitoring activities
- Ensuring regional activities align with approved budgets, AOPs, and funding conditions
E. Direction from FRFU (COO’s Office)
- Undertaking any other reasonable Development or Operational duties as directed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or through the COO’s office in support of FRFU’s strategic and operational objectiv
