KEY OUTCOMES:

  • The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for familiarizing themselves with the local Fiji construction industry, costs of preliminaries, materials, labor, including the costs of imported products versus those that can be locally sourced in order to best deliver best value for projects.
  • Prepare initial budget estimates.
  • Maintain and develop cost plans and prepare site progress reports.
  • Prepare tender and contract documentation in conjunction with members of other departments, including the plan of bills of quantities for projects that are to be scheduled.
  • Assist in the preparation of sub-contractor tender assessments and recommendations.
  • Provide recommendations for interim payments to sub-contractor and settling final accounts in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Participate in site inspections to verify progress claims scope of works undertaken by Contractor & consultants.
  • Input to change control processes with respect to project cost variations.
  • Manage HSE with governing procedures and permit to work system on the projects being worked on.

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or quantity survey.
  • 4 years of experience in construction & manufacturing industry. Fresh graduates or candidates seeking industrial attachment are also encouraged to apply.
  • Aware of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Have the drive, energy and personality to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and on shift basis.
  • Valid G2 drivers license.
