We currently have an immediate vacancy for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our already strong and vibrant Quality Control and Assurance Team in Port Moresby. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful incumbent of this role is requires to lead QA compliance based on GMP/AIB, HACCP, SQF, company and regulatory trade standards across all GFI Sites

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage Key Responsibilities and Competently Deliver the Department’s Strategy.
• Drive compliance in processing plants to company’s approved HACCP Program, Company Policies,
• Regulatory Standards and GMP policies – primarily in the Bakery
• Provide Assistance to the Documentation Controller and Quality Management System Officer in areas of document revisions, record keeping and QMS upkeep within GFI
• Understand that Reduction in Customer Complaint shows Improvement in Compliance to the HACCP
• Standard - analyse failing trends and contribute to continuous improvement
• Provide Assistance in Updating and Controlling Documents.
• Maintain the Certification to the HACCP Standard through Documentation and Compliance
• Monitoring of the QA Verification Schedules by validating existing processes.
• Assist QA Supervisor to gather process and product information used in continuous improvement mechanisms to improve processes and reduce waste
• Complete disposal/rework process on raw materials and finished goods.
• Food Safety and GMP/AIB Audits compliances
• Develop and oversee Supplier Corrective Actions/Internal Corrective Actions to process failures

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• Tertiary qualification in Food Technology, Applied Sciences or Chemistry

• 3 - 5 years’ experience delivering Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Product Research & Development, Food Safety Audits.
• Excellent knowledge on QMS Audits and corrective action mitigation and reporting
• Sound knowledge of food safety testing (analytical/microbiological testing).
• Experience in similar FMCG companies
