The Organisation
The Vanuatu Australia Infrastructure for Development (VAI4D) program is a five-year (2024-2029) investment funded by the Government of Australia through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). VAI4D supports the Government of Vanuatu’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (MIPU) to achieve sustainable and well-maintained infrastructure and services for all, through inclusive and effective partnerships. VAI4D continues Australia’s assistance to MIPU/PWD to effectively and efficiently managed Vanuatu’s public roads network while expanding support for strengthening the capacity of MIPU to deliver infrastructure projects in civil aviation, ports and marine, and public buildings.
The Position
The Program Coordinator is a key role in the VAI4D Team and will support the management of VAI4D activities. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the VAI4D Team, DFAT and MIPU including PWD. Ports and Harbour and CAAV to ensure that VAI4D activities are implemented effectively and efficiently.
As a key member of the VAI4D team, the Program Coordinator will have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. The Program Coordinator will be an excellent communicator, capable of expressing the program’s vision and desired outcomes through a range of formats and with a variety of stakeholders.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Degree qualification in international development or similar
► Independent working rights in Vanuatu
► Interest in the international development sector.
► Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, and complete assignments within timeframes
► Intermediate understanding of excel.
► Demonstrated ability to be proactive and problem solve.
► Excellent written English and fluent spoken English.
► Excellent interpersonal skills.
