Mechanic Supervisior
Position Overview
The Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all mechanical equipment, vehicles, generators, boats, and resort machinery. This role ensures that the resort’s operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently by leading a small team of mechanics/technicians, scheduling preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure plant operators are diligently carrying out daily duties during their 9.5-hour shift.
- Direct mechanics to keep the hourly report and carry out maintenance according to the data.
- Entire plant and back of the house kept clean and paint workshop floors according to specification.
- Inspect and guide mechanics to carry out repairs and test repairs on completion.
- Maintain repair report book and correct if the same repairs are repeated.
- Record all costs involved in vehicle maintenance.
- You must be available anytime of the day or night to resolve emergencies as needed.
- All tools must be kept clean and stored so that can be accessed during emergencies.
- Time keeping must be impeccable.
- Lead by example.
- Identify and keep all emergency parts in storage.
- Operators must clean wipe all equipment
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, marine engines, and generators.
- Hands-on diagnostic and repair ability.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Knowledge of health & safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a mechanical supervisory role, preferably in a resort, hotel, or marine environment.
- Experience with marine engines, outboard motors, and utility vehicles highly desirable.
