Kokomo Private Island is a luxurious, all-inclusive resort located in the heart of Kadavu, Fiji. We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our dynamic team and be based at Kokomo Private Island, Kadavu.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Understand the operation and function of laundry machines and equipment
§ Records all daily washing production.
§ Ensures the housekeeping team has adequate supplies of clean linens
§ Assists Housekeeping Attendants as needed with cleaning linens, stocking amenities, etc, when necessary
§ Maintain a clean and tidy work area, including machines
§ Ensures that all machine defects are promptly reported to the Laundry Manager
§ Transport and distribute guest laundry in a timely manner
§ Report any items found in pockets/garments to the Laundry Supervisor or the Laundry Manager
§ Handle chemicals in a responsible manner in compliance with OHS requirements
§ Communicate effectively with team members and guests in a courteous and professional manner
§ To be aware of to comply with statutory requirements regarding the workplace, such as OH & S, hygiene, fire prevention, proper handling of chemicals, and other substances that may be hazardous to your health
§ Follow instructions in the use of all chemicals and cleaning agents, including the use of PPE’s
§ Report an on-the-job injury to the Laundry Manager.
§ Be able to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and requirements
§ Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
§ To carry out any other reasonable duty as directed to assist in the smooth operation of the resort
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum secondary or tertiary qualifications
· At least 3 years of hands-on experience
· Work on shift, including odd hours, with minimum supervision
· Be a team player and able to manage multiple jobs.
· Must have an approachable manner while maintaining a professional attitude
· Valid driving license
· Other safety training certifications will be an advantage
