The Grand Pacific Hotel is on an historic journey as we transit into our Luxury & Lifestyle collection of becoming “InterContinental Grand Pacific Hotel Suva”, we have an opportunity within our IT team for IT Interns.
As an IT Intern, you will support the team which will include but not limited to the following:
- Support the IT team in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing and maintaining company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware.
- Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of IT services.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT systems.
- To ensure that Occupational Health and safety requirements are observed, maintained, and always enforced.
- Be ready to jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your assistance.
What we need from you
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and friendly individual who is willing to learn and build an extraordinary career within a global company. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Flexibility - nights, weekends and holiday shifts are all part of the role.
- Working knowledge of network architecture and Microsoft operating systems and databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands on experience with diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Knowledge on data privacy and information security policies.
- Knowledge in PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards)
- A team player, proactive, responsible, hardworking, and able to work under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of network and system administration,
- Tech savvy and competent with MS Office suite.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Articulate –a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to
