The position is responsible for the effective and timely processing of all immigration related applications, conducts compliance investigations and inspections, process Prohibited Immigrations uplifts and updating of controversial list.
The position is responsible for supporting the effective enforcement of immigration laws and policies, and will achieve its purpose by:
1) Advising the Manager, Compliance & Investigation, on compliance and policy matters by providing accurate and timely guidance to inform decision-making.
2) Facilitating, compiling, and submitting investigation and inspection reports in response to complaints or suspected breaches of immigration laws, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3) Coordinating and monitoring the detention and repatriation processes for illegal immigrants in compliance with legal and policy requirements.
4) Overseeing surveillance activities and preparing timely intelligence reports to support enforcement actions.
5) Managing resources effectively to ensure the successful and lawful removal of illegal immigrants from the country.; and
6) Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including planning, budgeting and Human Resources Management activities where required.
Applicants for employment within the Fiji Civil Service must be Fijian Citizens, under the age of 60, in sound health with a clear police record. The successful applicant will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance prior as a condition of employment.
