Nabou Green Energy Limited (NGEL) is one of Fiji's first major bio mass Independent Power Producer (IPP) supplying energy to national grid. NGEL is a duly registered Private Limited Company consortium of Korean organisations and is situated at Nabou area, between Nadi and Sigatoka, Western Viti Levu, Fiji. We are seeking a results-oriented individual who is passionate about Health Safety, & Environment to join our Team in the role of:
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT OFFICER
Job Summary:
This position reports to the General Manager – Administration and will be involved in a variety of activities including but not limited to:
※ Ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance are met at all times.
※ Responsible for conducting investigations on accidents and incidents that occurred at the premises whilst developing and implementing future improvement plans to eliminate repetition of such accidents/incidents.
※ Identify and manage OHS-related training needs and competency gaps in consultation with Human Resources & OHS Manager.
※ Ensure timely renewal of business license and related compliance certificates.
※ Ensure risk assessments are carried out on a timely basis and appropriate mitigation actions are taken accordingly.
※ Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes and develop necessary operational process enhancement strategies.
※ Facilitating weekly safety audits and ensuring that corrective action items are closed by the respective department.
※ Ensure Quality Circles initiatives are effectively implemented and managed.
※ Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives.
※ Ensure to update and maintain all safety and environment key performance indicators (KPI) and health & safety and environmental hazard logs.
Key Requirements:
※ Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
※ Tertiary qualification in OHS or completion of OHS Modules I-IV.
※ An excellent command of English the position requires writing of reports.
※ Ability to understand and interpret company policies and procedures.
※ Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
※ Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
※ Demonstrated experience in implementing OHS systems and procedures.
