Handyman & Carpenter
Kokomo Private Island in Fiji is looking for a dedicated and experienced Handyman and Carpenter to join our team.
Responsibilities for Handyman:
- Conduct general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests.
- Uphold safety standards and regulations at all times.
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance.
- Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
- Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.
Responsibilities for Carpenter:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass) according to measurements
- Fitting items for future installation by carpenters
- Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Repairing and maintaining doors, door frames, windows, etc.…
- Lay out flooring, roofing’s or drywall, ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Handyman and Carpenter role.
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in various trades.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- First Aid & Fire Warden Certification is desirable.
- A Valid Driving License would be an advantage for the role.
