An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and results-driven Group Tax Controller to lead and oversee tax compliance, planning, and strategy across the organization. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring tax efficiency, regulatory compliance, and optimizing tax structures to support the company’s financial and operational objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement best practice and standardization in further development of tax compliance, statutory financial reporting and other finance processes.
  • Keep track of the tax compliance certificates, certificate of compliance & timely submission of tax lodgments (GST, SWT, BIPT, IWT, FCWT, MFWT, DWT).
  • Identify and implement best practice and standardization in further development of tax compliance, statutory financial reporting and other finance processes.
  • Ensure clean bill of health from any internal and external audits (e.g., Tax Health Checks) on operational finance/accounting issues and make sure no recurring issues found in the audit reports.
  • Monitor & implement changes in fiscal policies, regulations, practices, and standards.
  • Able to provide tax advice to the management and lead tax discussion to external auditors.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of the Group’s Statutory Financial Statements & Income Tax Returns preparation and lodgments on time.
  • Perform Deferred and Current income tax calculations and tax proofing
  • Review and monitoring of Group’s monthly tax compliance, Statement of Accounts (IRC), penalties & tax issues listing.
  • Actively participate in External Audits (half year, interim & final) and accounting policy implementation.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of financial board papers for quarterly board and audit committee meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Must be CPA qualified.
  • Big 4 taxation experience preferred.
  • At least 7 years previous experience in financial & regulatory reporting in a large group of companies and managing a small team.
  • Previous experience in Pronto would be an advantage; proficient with Microsoft excel (advanced).
  • Result, detail, and quality- oriented with high sense of urgency.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels; and able to tackle complexities
