Reporting to the Manager Aircraft Support Workshop & Ground Support Equipment. The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Tradesman - Mechanical is responsible for the effective tracking, rectification of defects, and execution of preventative maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment in accordance with the Equipment Maintenance Manual and established standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that preventative maintenance schedules for all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) are tracked and completed as required, with all daily maintenance activities and defects accurately recorded in AMOS.
  • Monitors and follows up on reported defects daily to ensure timely rectification.
  • Sources quotations from approved vendors for spare parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with procurement standards.
  • Reviews the GSE Maintenance Program regularly and updates AMOS accordingly.
  • Controls maintenance costs by maximizing in-house repair capabilities, minimizing reliance on external contractors where feasible.
  • Continuously evaluates maintenance processes and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensures all procured materials are properly received and recorded in AMOS, and that periodic stock takes are conducted.
  • Maintains 5S housekeeping standards in the workshop to promote a safe and organized work environment.
  • Coordinates with Aircraft Maintenance Coordinators on all matters relating to GSE operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with the Property Maintenance Coordinator and Manager Aircraft Support Workshop & Ground Support Equipment, providing timely updates and feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manager Aircraft Support Workshop & Ground Support Equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Possess a Certificate in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in defect rectification and preventative maintenance of heavy plant and machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently perform tasks related to record preparation and maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and the proper handling of hazardous materials.
