GENERAL MANAGER – HOSPITALITY & EXPERIENCES

The South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG) is Fiji’s leading marine tourism operator offering a wide range of award-winning products and services throughout the stunning Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands. Brands operated include South Sea Cruises, Blue Lagoon Cruises, Malamala Beach Club, South Sea Sailing, South Sea Island and recently announced South Sea Cats.

Reporting to the COO, we are currently seeking an experienced, and qualified General Manager – Hospitality & Experiences to lead our vessel, island, and shore-based hospitality and customer facing team(s) across SSCG. The successful applicant will focus on delivering and improving the high standards of operational performance and reliability of which SSCG is known for and which our customers and trade partners expect. The successful applicant will be highly skilled and/or experienced in the field of both hospitality and customer-facing experiences, both of which are key responsibilities of this role. Applicants with experience in both segments will be preferred, however SSCG is willing to consider applicants who are strong in one area and not the other, but who have the capacity and capability to quickly learn and lead in areas where their experience or qualifications may fall short.

The successful applicant must be able to handle multiple logistical challenges in a single day, work under pressure, solve a wide range of problems, and always have a high level of focus on both safety and service levels. The successful applicant must be willing and able to lead and develop a large and varied operations team which operates 365 days of the year.

This a senior management position within SSCG, and therefore an attractive remuneration and benefit package is on offer for the successful applicant. The position is based at Port Denarau, Fiji with regular travel required within the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands. Some weekend work and/or being on call is required.

Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Display a vast experience in customer facing operations and hospitality
  • Demonstrate experience in managing a large team operating at different locations across different
  • Be able to develop key relationships internally and externally with various
  • Be able to manage a large budget and associated expenditure whilst achieving cost of sales
  • Be a problem solver and handle adverse situations as they
  • Display a strong focus on customer service and customer experiences whilst also having a focus on risk and
  • Be extremely dependable, and a willing contributor to the SSCG senior management
