VACANCY: 33/2023 Finance Officer - Receivable
The Finance officer will be responsible for the efficient management of the allocated Company’s Debtors and maintain an efficient Reconciliation of Debtors, Cash and Banking of Telephone payments. The Finance Officer will manage the credit and collection process and ensure that it is effective for the recovery of debt and will maintain the debt level of the allocated customer accounts.
Requirements
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage and Control: Overall debtors according to the allocated customer segmentation and maintain debtors aging as per the target given by Management.
- Receivables: Track outstanding invoices and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment. This involves maintaining records of accounts receivable and aging reports to monitor payment trends and identify any overdue accounts.
- Collections: Following up on overdue accounts, contacting customers for payment reminders, and negotiating payment plans are key tasks.
- Payment : The officer will be responsible for updating payment through direct deposit. Recording and reconciling incoming payments with outstanding invoices in the billing system is crucial for accurate financial reporting.
- Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging analysis, and collection projections is essential.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers is important for ensuring prompt payment and resolving any disputes or billing discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to accounts receivable processes is part of the role.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as sales, customer service, and finance is essential to address issues related to billing, collections, and customer satisfaction.
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting and customer service-related studies, or related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum 3 years of customer service experience and accounting knowledge and debt collection.
- Proven track record in debt collection and debt recovery.
- Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Negotiation and Conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of Excel, Accounting, and billing systems.
- Possesses a winning attitude, and good judgment, and team player with a strong sense of integrity and ethics
- Multitasking and time management skills.
