The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Officer to oversee the ecological integrity of our flagship luxury mountain resort. This is a rare opportunity to shape a sustainable masterpiece in Fiji’s rugged interior, ensuring that world-class construction coexists with our pristine highland ecosystems.

 

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities strictly adhere to the Environment Management Act 2005 and associated regulations.

EIA Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and monitor conditions set forth in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval.

Site Inspections: Conduct regular assessments to manage solid and liquid waste, soil
erosion, and sedimentation in steep mountain terrain.

Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the Fiji Department of Environment and local land-owning communities.

Conservation Management: Supervise vegetation plans, including the preservation of native mountain flora and reforestation of disturbed areas.

Reporting: Prepare and submit technical site inspection reports and environmental audits to senior management and regulatory bodies.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: A Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within large-scale construction or resort development.

Technical Knowledge: Practical understanding of Fiji's environmental legislation and international best practices for sustainable development.

Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret maps and environmental data, combined with excellent written and verbal communication.

Physical Ability: Willingness and fitness to work in remote, rugged mountain environments with extensive field activities.

 

Remuneration & Benefits

We offer a competitive package designed for a high-level professional:
Salary: FJD $55,000 – $75,000 per annum (commensurate with experience).
