Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and a heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ an experienced and proactive individual for the Electrician role to be based in Suva.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other transport vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and control units.
- Work closely with the mechanical team to support broader maintenance activities and vehicle servicing.
- Assist in troubleshooting combined mechanical/electrical faults.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on transport electrical systems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records and update maintenance logs.
- Assist in emergency breakdown repairs in the workshop or on-site as required.
- Keep tools and work area clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Trade Certification in Automotive Electrical or similar.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on transport vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics tools, and repair techniques.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and ability to assist mechanics when needed.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Team player with a flexible and proactive work attitude.
- Physically fit and willing to work in a workshop or field environment.
